Gaining weight is easy (for most of us) but loosing it is very difficult. Two most important aspect of weight loss program are exercise and diet control. Exercising, it is easy to see how many calories you have burned but with diet it is not easy to find out how much calorie intake is from a particular meal.
Diets in Details is a software which has database of more than 50,000 (as claimed by developer) food items with details about calories, carbohydrates, protein, fat, saturated fat, cholesterol, fiber, sugar, sodium and calcium.
If you are on a diet control then it is very handy as it can calculate the amount of calorie intake you had. You can enter your diet date wise. It has a search box which will show you results as you type. You can select the meal and serving to add. It shows the amount in grams and oz. You can also enter your weight to monitor [Fig 1].
It also shows a comparative chart of the daily intake of food and weight [Fig 2].
It also comes with a daily diary where you can enter any detail you want to [Fig 3].
There are few areas which if improved would have enhanced the usability of the software. The dates can be scrolled one at a time which means that going back few months would be a tedious job. There is no help file which makes thing little difficult to understand.
Conclusion: Overall this is nice software to monitor your daily diet. If you are serious about loosing weight then you should definitely monitor your calorie intake.
