Full Review:
We all know that time is money. The better we manage our time; the better would be our efficiency. To increase our efficiency, we have to look and modify even small things.
One of the areas which is very time consuming and tiring on computer is typing. I do not know how much I type daily but many times my sore fingers yell at me at the end of the day.
Breevy is software which helps to improve your computer tasks by providing automation while typing.
It does so by replacing an abbreviation with text, launching a website or opening a file or folder. All I have to do is add the abbreviation in the software and map it to one of the tasks: replacement text, launch website or open file or folder. The text can be typed anywhere on the computer.
Text Replacement: If you use a text frequently then you can add an abbreviation for it. The replacement text can be as large as you want. It can be a word, line, paragraph or whole page.
For example I write “please visit our website softwarewagon.com” a lot so all I have to do is choose an abbreviation like “pvb“ for it. Now any where if I type “pvb” it will be replaced by “please visit our website softwarewagon.com” [Fig 1].
Program, File or Folder Launcher: You can also map a text shortcut to launch an exe, file or folder. You can set the parameters for exe. The window state: normal, maximized or minimized. To run the program as an Administrator [Fig 2].
Website Launcher: You can set a text which when typed will open a website. You can specify the URL and the browser to open with. The software supports Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google chrome browsers [Fig 3].
There is option to choose if the abbreviation is to be case sensitive, case insensitive or case to case.
You can also set when the text is to be replaced. The options are immediately, after a trigger key is pressed or after a word ending character.
You can also import auto corrections default list or from Microsoft Word. This would give you ability to have auto correct feature in those applications also where it is not available like Notepad.
You can also Medical Transcription abbreviations, Shorthand dictionary and SureType shortcuts.
In the options window you can choose default actions and many other features [Fig 4].
Conclusion: If your work demands typing then this tool can be very useful. Also the site, exe, file and folder launcher is very useful as you can type the shortcut anywhere on the screen to execute the command.
